Venice of the North...
We had the pleasure of visiting Stockholm last week. It has become one of the most popular (and stylish) weekend getaway destinations in Europe, and it is easy to see why.
We went in search of new designers, inspiring places and great coffee - and it did not disappoint. You will soon see in our webshop a few of the exciting new brands we will be collaborating with - so stay tuned!
For now check out our short guide to the Swedish capital with some recommendations for where to eat/drink and shop/experience.
Do it whilst listening to our Summer in Stockholm soundtrack
Fotografiska - Is a must visit photography gallery, but head to the top floor and you have a cafe and restaurant with the best view in Stockholm. Great locally sourced food.
Södra Teatern - Is the oldest theatre in Stockholm, situated above Fotografiska on Södermalm. Have a look at their schedule of live music, or in the summer go for a drink with the rest of the hipsters enjoying a view of the old town.
Fabrique - best cardamon buns there is. There are a few of these bakeries in Stockholm, and even one in London so no excuses!
SOFO - 'South of Folkungagatan' is the happening area on Södermalm, you can get off the tube at Slussen and walk up Götgatan (where there incidentally is a Fabrique on the way...) or go on to Medborgarplatsen and head towards Nytorget. Great for people watching and shopping. Below is the Nudie Jeans store, ps this man was not placed there by us. Promise.
Snickarbacken 7 - A fantastic space with a coffee shop, art gallery and lifestyle store in one. The vibe is oh so Stockholm underground stylish.
Grandpa - if you have fallen for the SOFO vibe, go to Grandpa. They have a store in the area, or if you are on Kungsholmen their larger store also incorporates a cafe with fab coffee.
So what are you waiting for - book that trip! Or just wait a few more months and come join us in London at Blåbär....
