To fill with lamp oil and light the lamp:

The lamp must be off and completely cool before filling. Remove the burner tube and unscrew the burner. Fill the container with lamp oil, about 2/3 full; using a funnel can help prevent spills. Screw the burner back on and let the wick soak for 20–30 minutes. Light the lamp and adjust the flame by turning the wick up or down so it does not burn too high. Put the burner tube back in place. If needed, adjust the burner tube so it stands straight; the metal clamps on the burner can be used to stabilize the glass.

To turn off the lamp:

Extinguish the flame by blowing it out or by turning the wick down completely.

To change the wick:

Pull the old wick out from below. Insert the new wick from below and screw it up to the correct height.

Important to note:

When the lamp is lit, the burner tube becomes very hot. Always place the lamp on a flat, stable surface and keep it away from combustible materials. Leave at least 1 meter of free space above the lamp. This lamp is a primary light source, not a decorative item—always keep it under supervision and out of reach of children and pets. Lamp oil is highly toxic if ingested; even very small amounts, including sucking on the wick, can be dangerous. Do not induce vomiting—contact the Poison Information Center and a doctor immediately.
